Training Opportunities
A key aspect of Army ROTC is the advanced training programs available to cadets. Contracted cadets can participate in exciting training experiences at installations throughout the United States alongside cadets from programs around the county.
Basic Camp
Basic Camp is a 30-day training event designed to introduce cadets to the Army, conducted each summer in Fort Knox, Kentucky. It focuses on critical military and leadership skills taught during the Army ROTC Basic Course.
We highly recommend all cadets attend Basic Camp, althrough it is primarily a resource for qualifying cadets for the army ROTC Advanced Course.
Advanced Camp
Advanced Camp is a 35-day training event deigned to develop a cadet’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills to forge them into adaptable leaders, conducted each summer at Fort Knox, Kentucky. It focuses on problem-solving in an operational setting to develop leadership skills, allowing cadets to thrive in challenging conditions.
Advanced Camp is a leadership development opportunity for cadets between their military science III and IV years of Army ROTC.
Ranger Challenge
Ranger Challenge stands as the pinnacle of Army ROTC competitions. Each year, universities nationwide compete to win the 2nd Brigade’s Ranger Challenge Competition. Cadets compete against each other in obstacles, such as gender throws, bridge building and marksmanship, pushing their limit in a crucible of teamwork and resilience.
Winning the 6th Brigade’s Ranger Challenge Competition isn’t about winning a trophy for these cadets. It’s the culmination of months of grueling training and pushing their physical and mental limits to become the best.
